Image Enhancement

What a fun experience I had on Friday!  I had a personal shopping experience with Michele Little of One Chic Mamma, an image consultant and one of my fellow board members with Chix in Business.

Before we met, Michele gave me some great questions that really got me thinking about my style and goals for what image I want to be presenting to the world.  Some were hard to answer at first, but they really got me thinking (something I love) and helped me clarify what I wanted.  I got to choose the store and we met there.  While shopping, my focus of course was on stepping out of my comfort zone, so I asked Michele to help me look for skirts and dresses, something I do not own now.  Though I didn’t find any to purchase, she helped me understand what styles, lengths and shapes suit me best so now I know what to look for.  We also focused on accessories, something I’m not always sure about.  She explained how to wear them, what colors to choose for them and some other creative ideas to alter pieces I may happen to find that are not perfect, but have promise.  This was music to my ears since many of you know I am a thrift store junkie and also love being creative.  Now I am on a quest to find at least one skirt and dress that I can wear with confidence – and I will also be looking at items I find in thrift stores with more of a creative eye to the possibilities I can add to them.

I’m so glad I had this experience of focusing on myself, it was something I had thought about for a while, and finally stepping into it.

New Connections

I had a wonderful lunch the other day with a woman who was introduced to me through another friend. Marilyn Shannon, also a life coach, has created an exciting community of life minded people who are eager to forge new connections called ReEnchant Planet Earth. Their mission states “To bring together groups and groups of people that already see the world as an enchanting place. By using tools such as stories and the iCircle we want to spread that love and energy throughout the planet.” It is so exciting meeting people who are having a great impact on the world! One passion we share in common is our belief that anything is possible to achieve.

One of their features is Thee Talking Stick Newsletter, giving you an opportunity to do just that.  To tell your story of possibility and achievement, an opportunity for self expression, to share your accomplishments and life experiences with other like minded people.  Even if you have never written anything before that you shared with others, this is a forum where everything is accepted.  It is your chance to step out of your comfort zone a bit!  You know how much I love that!

My Favorite Month

October has always been one of my favorite months.   Everywhere I look there is evidence of natures transition in the changing of the leaves to brilliant colors and the crispness and clarity of the air.  The sunshine I crave takes on a golden hue and filters through the trees casting beautiful shadows on the turning leaves.   My best colors, to wear and that inspire me are those best found in nature this time of year that is why I chose them for my website and blog.
